Kiplinger reporter on CNN - 3 day storm advice

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

This morning CNN interviewed a reported from Kiplinger report. They warn us to stock op on a 3 day supply of food and enough cash to get us through the rollover weekend.

I'm glad now I never subscribed to thier report. If they can't see THIS comming and what it implies, how are they forcasting anything of any value to anybody.

I think this would apply to most financial newsletters also. Where are these guys when you really need them?

buying some more tuna,

Here is what Kiplinger had to say about Y2K in their January 22, 1999 issue:

Re Bob P buying more tuna. I agree. We KNOW they have access to the 10-K's and 10-Q's, and assume that before they write about Y2K they read up on the Senate Testimony, the GAO reports, the research out of Canada and Great Britain, the FDIC Gallup poll showing how many people plan to "cash out".... on and on...

So if they have read all that and STILL come out with advice to get a couple of boxes of Mac-n-Cheese and a couple of bottles of Evian and you will be fine????? Things must be REALLY bad. So bad that they don't dare tell us until they have make all THEIR preps. Give all the remediators as many seconds as possible and hope against hope that even though they have missed all the previous deadlines by a country mile, somehow they will pull through this time.

More tuna... more candles... more water... and KI.
