Thelma and Louise meet Y2K

This preparation list is for those who want to prepare as if it's the end of the world. That is, you need enough food to last until the harvest, you need non-hybrid seeds, and you need a barter skill for the newly emerging village economy.

Why prepare if you're not preparing to go the distance, is the attitude?

That list is extremely personal, but it does contain some good ideas.

Preparing for long-term, off-the-grid living really requires a fair-sized piece of land, farming equipment, livestock, & several strong young backs. That rules out those of us living with elderly or disabled relatives on quarter-acre lots in the suburbs, or for the big chunk of our population living in cities.

Face it, most of us are toast.
