Help Help Help! Too many Knobs and dials!!!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo: Creativity, Etc. : One Thread

Okay, a request for help. Does anyone happen to have an instruction manual for a Mamiya C330 professional F lying around that they would be willing to either i) Part with. ii)photocopy iii) Scan and email iv)I can't think of a fourth.

I just bought one second hand, and there are too many knobs on. Some of them are fairly straight forward, ie translate from 35mm - but others like one on the lens that has what looks like an X and a simga symbol ? What the hell is that?? Oh, a further complication, I am In Australia. I am happy to pay postage from anywhere.

I seem to have exhausted my avenues here, so I broaden the call.

Thanx.

Check out the Mamiya TLR FAQ . It will probably answer most if not all of your questions about your acquisition. BTW it is an "M" not a siqma. That sets the flash synch between X and M synch.

Ditto Subject + it was most helpful.

The C330 is a pretty straightforward box, as are the Seiko shutters. You might be looking at a 3 position lever marked M X V.

M is for flashbulb syncronization as the other fellow stated. X is for electronic flash syncronization. V is a self timer. Cock and fire the shutter. It should buzz for a few seconds and then trip the shutter.
