Sportsmans guide: www.sportsmansguide.com. Also, it is very amusing to read IMHO. Whenever I see something good in there, I always check Ebay first, and usually end up buying it there. Lots of quasi-dealers seem to operate exclusively in Ebay (brand new stuffin most cases).

Have placed two orders with C.Crane - excellent products, prices, service. On line, see Bingo's hotlink above. Good for rechargeable batteries, solar battery charger--all types of batteries, not just AAs, and electronic gear of all kinds.

Others:

Realgoods.com, VERY useful solar and other off-the-grid products, a bit yuppie but has useful things you wouldn't think of. Solar showers available, good battery charger for REGULAR batteries too, solar 12v AA recharger which will also run small things 12v and under (or provides conduit from auto cig lighter) and--my current favorite--a good personal fan, runs on D batteries, goes 300 hours. Have been ordering from here for about 12-14 years.

gardenerssupply.com, lots of good garden stuff, fair prices. Nice 75-gall water barrels to catch rainwater, other good stuff. Been ordering from here around 8-10 years.

Drs. Foster & Smith, on-line somewhere, good prices on pet supplies, vet meds, animal booster vacs, etc. Pet first-aid kits, suture kits. Been ordering from here around 6-8 years.

richters.com, best place I know for herbs and descriptions of their uses. Source for fabled epazote, efficacious re bean gas! Have had two orders from here, takes a bit longer than usual--Canadian co.--but worth it. Catalogue is encyclopedic.

Park Seed, on line somewhere. I like their seeds because they come in airtight foil packets, as opposed to plain paper. Been ordering from here nearly 12 years, no problems.

Been up to the Solar Living Demonstration Center twice in Hopland (two and one half hour drive away). Chatted with the President too. Great stuff... they really walk their talk!

Cumberland General Store has lots of Amish stuff, etc. Not as back-ordered as Lehman's. 1-800-334-4640 www.twistedoak.com has solar, wind, stoves, refrigerators, shelters, small appliances. I got my Infomate world band radio from them. Like Baygen, but more bands and also runs/recharges from built-in solar panel.

Drs. Foster and Smith are at www.drsfostersmith.com.

I'm fond of www.beprepared.com (Emergency Essentials). A little pricey, but still delivering in a timely manner.
