-Greybear, puttin those beans on to soak!

--Bingo1: Great site, thanks. If Y2K very turns mean, it may be difficult to come up with enough fuel and time to constantly watch your beans, and for that matter your other foods that you cook. To say nothing of the odors they give off. Check with Greybear on the advantages of cooking in a thermas. Easy, energy efficient, no odors, to burning problems, and the flavor of the food seems to improve. Who has the time and energy, along with the fuel to have beans cooking for an hour to an hour and a half. LOL --How do you spell the plural of thermas?

One word--epazote!!!

Anti-gas herb (right, Greybear?), easy to grow, get seeds at Richters:

http://www.richters.com/

FINE catalogue site, lots of useful info, very good descriptions of many herbs. Canadian but no problem getting seeds into country. Check their seminars on the web, links at site. Worth getting catalogue just for encyclopedic info.
