Wow Stu, I like everything. The way it stands on one leg. The soft, slightly colored background and that piece of tree.

It almost looks like a painting to me.

Did you crop of some of the bottom ? Do you have a larger version somewhere ? Congratulations !

Beautiful pose and striking color. Well metered. This is almost like a painting (except in a painting there would be no little yellow thing at the bottom left corner to distract you). Don't you hate it when those out of focus things sneak into your photo? Well, anyhow, good capturing. Ted

Thanks so much for the kind words.

Jan, that is a scan of the original print. There was no cropping.

Ted, the yellow thing is my bad. I woulda/shoulda/coulda changed my angle and got rid of it. But with a Reddish Egret preening 10 feet away from me...

Stu, great picture! I too had the impression of a painting when I first saw it. Lots of great detail in the birds feathers. The bird is a nice contrast in color and sharpness to the softly lit backgound. Excellent pose as well. Respectfully, Donna

Great bird and background! Wish it wasn't standing on a stump/post.
