What if, just what if....this guy is none other than the nefarious Al- d......and what if, just what if he was peddling his same old poorly translated interpretation of the Bible.........

Not wanting to get into a religious battle of wits, (I don't believe in fighting an unarmed man) however to set the record straight..

The correct translation is....the love of MAMMON is the root of evil.....That whole passage of scripture is talking clearly about God's plan for salvation of the whole world.....mammon is not money, but the whole concept of a monetary system, in other words.....you give me this and I'll give you that in return.....When you buy a loaf of bread, you are given the bread and you hand over coins.....that is the system of mammon......

In the context of salvation, the system of MAMMON is evil.....completely wrong. God's message is simply this: Salvation is a gift, completely free (for the whole world).....the love of mammon is those people that are determined that they must pay for their salvation or the favor of God.

Read the whole of that scripture passage and it is clear that is the meaning........there is nothing before or after that verse that indicates in the least that it is about having money.......as a matter of fact, if you read the writings of the old testament, having money was a sign that God had blessed you.

BTW, there is nothing about Adam 'selling his soul'......his soul is not his to sell, it belongs to God.......Adam disobeyed God but in no way SOLD his soul.........how you can twist that and then relate it to 'the love of mammon' is an absolute mockery of what the scriptures were meant to be used for.

ANSWER: In the context of the law or the old covenant, you do eventually reap what you sow......however, you have proven the point for me.....Jesus sowed love and yet reaped death.....He did NOT get what he had sown.....Likewise, we sow actions worthy of death and yet reap life.....that's called the good news, or Gospel.

How can Jesus save folks, even those that reject him??.... SIMPLE, the covenant of the law was between God and man. The covenant of the Gospel is between God and himself.....God swore by himself so that NO man could render the covenant ineffective. Your acceptance of Christ now while important to bring peace is not the be all and end all it is made out to be, for in the end "EVERY knee shall bow and EVERY tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father".

You're right, it is a HEART thing. But it is the heart of Christ that is the only heart that we are judged on. The heart of man is desperately wicked.......

The fact is, this running around frantically to try and get people 'saved', is misguided. They have already been saved and will never be judged by the flesh.....that is the real definition of unconditional love.....

You see, with full unconditional love, there is nothing to rebel against......Have you ever heard anyone say, "I'm sick to death of your unconditional love......"

No, what people are SICK to death of is when you try to convince them how great, powerful, awesome and loving God is, while at the same time telling them that unless they believe this, this very same God is going to ensure they are tortured and tormented for millions of years.....

If you believe for one moment that a created being, Satan, has the ability to frustrate God's will (that all mankind be saved), then you are admitting that God is not all powerful and in fact made a hell of a mess of his creation.........he might as well wear a big letter L on his forehead if this were true. Fortunately it is not true.

Anyway, that sums it up........You might be happy to know that my explanation to you is simply what the early church believed and fully understood.....the images of people being tortured came from the sick mind of people like Dante and was propogated throughout the centuries by a church that used those images to KEEP CONTROL OVER THE PEOPLE.

Let me tell you the standard phrase I hear constantly from everyone who claims to be a Christian. Here goes, "Well he says he's a Christian, but he isn't." Or, "True Christians don't act like that."
