Why the trolls are self-destructing

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Suddenly, its the Land of Trolls. Even that obese roly-poly Jimmy Bagga Doughnuts (when he isn't cross dressing as corrine) is active again. Norm/Mild Mannered Reporter/Sista In Da Hood. Y2K Pro and all of his many deviant variants. WHATS GOING ON???

They are going banannas because they have realized the ugly truth: ONCE THE YOURDON PREP-ONLY FORUM IS TURNED ON, THEY ARE DEAD! Their stupid crap will be deleted ON SIGHT in the prep-only forum. And nobody is probably going to post on this side of the fence anymore -- time is way to short to engage in such banter. Even Decker, who otherwise might be clever enough to get away with posting on the prep-only forum, managed to shoot himself in the foot by telling us that he would refrain from posting on a prep-only forum.

So go ahead, you pathetic moronic doughnut eating telescope watching ghetto jiving good news posting smooth talking trolls -- knock yourselves out. You are history.

We hope to have the prep forum operational by tomorrow evening or very soon after that, btw.

I still see a strong place for this forum too. However, while I fully support Diane, I would personally delete every trollish post on this forum, whether or not anyone "liked it" or not and without any debate or pre-notification (and hope she will soon make the decision to do that; otherwise, I'm afraid this side of the forum MAY collapse).

There is plenty of room for intense difference of opinion and even flaming without the nonsense. It ain't censorship, it's moderating.

Boowaah! Put the puppy in the pen, time for the BigDog to play!

-- Puddintame (achillesg@hotmail.com), July 05, 1999.

oh mr. kingey,

you are such a silly. i predict the new "prep only site" will remain about "preps only" for possibly three days. you kids really don't get it yet do you? go back and look at anybodys postings on any thread. name one person that has limited their posts to "preps only", yourself included. (stan doesn't count because stan is secretly dudley doright and patrick henry's love child.)

the nature of this beast is such that it demands that all human emotions must be addressed. the various threads that don't fall under your definition of preps are in fact preps. they are spiritual, physical, argumentative, supportive, inspirational, destructive, blah, and blah and blah and blah. one man's preps is another man's poison.

at the end of the day each must take responsibility for their own actions. quit trying so hard to save those that don't want to saved. it seems so silly if you think it through. your position seems to be i am here to save you. oh, you don't want to be saved? well ----you, you ingrate. what an incredibly sad attitude. please, by all means save yourself but beyond that you gotta start relaxing just a little teensey bit.

a well prepped kiss to y

"So go ahead, you pathetic moronic doughnut eating telescope watching ghetto jiving good news posting smooth talking trolls -- knock yourselves out. You are history."

Yeah, god forbid that we see ANY good news here, we wouldn't want that.

-- Unc D (unkeed@yahoo.com), July 05, 1999.

King!

Take a few deep breathsOK, feel better dont you?

Just three points:

1) People will not, I say NOT, stop posting on this open forum due to the opening of a Preps Only forum. The differing opinions of the relevance and, or outcome of y2k are very real motivations for the majority who visit this site.

2) Those few TRUE trolls who continually engage just to disrupt, might find a little (very little) more bandwidth to utilize.

3) Many regulars (myself included) find a much needed comorodity (sp?) in the open forum that helps us to except the coming events. The personal nature of our discussion tends to give us a feeling of being a part of the greater good we do not receive while we interacting with "John Doe", who thinks yk2 is bunk.

Thanks'

BigDog,

This reminds me of an old pair of definitions:

Junk - stuff we throw away. Stuff - junk we keep.

Troll trash is stuff to throw away.

Meanwhile, I concur that this forum will continue to have considerable value.

Unc D,

You were much more interesting as Uncle Deedah or DiETeR.

I don't give a flying shit if anybody thinks I'm not interesting.

More like doom zombies are tired of all their predictions fail and have to continue to convince themselves that all the money they spent has not gone to waste. Censoring the forum is just a way to make sure that you call can sleep good night and not worry about having wasted money.

Umm, look at your record of accomplishments WAYCOOL. Looks like you're WAY BEHIND. Best of luck in your unprepared home. I must admit I will take perverse pleasure in watching jerks like yourself forage for scraps.

Just don't come down my street, OK?

Ah, a true troll emerges from under the moss covered bridge.

This dope is just that, a dope. What, you shit for brains, has been proven or disproven? I shouldn't even dignify that statement with a question mark. Their have been many posts worthy of the dubious distinction: "I don't have a clue", congratulations, your in the running.

Even many of your fellow trolls will agree with this suggestion. Take a long hike off a short rope.

"Unc D" IS NOT Uncle Deedah. That man was a caring soul, not a troll. It's been evident for some time to me that this troll was trying to steal the identity of a real ole time regular.

Too bad the real Uncle Deedah hasn't been able to clear the air

Not quite correct lookin or lurkin or whatever is was. True, Stephen did the animated GIF, but once he published it on Debunking Y2K, anyone could pull it in that knows how to reference an image source.

The reason I promised not to post on any prep board was twofold. First, I have not that much interest in discussions of 'how much, how to, and exactly what'. Second, I have been accused of 'disrupting' preps by stating flatly that the analysis behind the necessity for a given prep was faulty. How pointing out a bad assumption in a post is 'disruptive' is past my understanding, but OK. You want to talk about preps, fine. Have fun.

And I am a bit curious here - will posters of 'ya gotta do this prep' on this side of the street be considered disruptive? Or is the old double standard going to be in full flower?

-- Paul Davis (davisp1953@yahoo.com), July 06, 1999.

Look at it this way -- if it weren't for us, they'd be out there, deliberately bumping you at the mall, pulling little girls' braids, stopping up johns in public restrooms, supergluing mailboxes shut, throwing firecrackers at loose animals, pulling wings off of flies, doing donuts on front yards, and all the other hooliganistic things hooligans do. At least they're not picking on those least able to defend themselves when they're screwing up the works here.

-- OutingsR (us@here.yar), July 06, 1999.

Oh it's me alright, and I still do have some caring left in my heart for the feelings OF others, I just don't care about whether or not I am universally beloved BY others.

I am also still an on again/off again grumpy-ass, and seeing the return of the foul evil of INVAR's sack of dung "Bagga Sagga" has brought out my grumpy-ass big time. Now there is an evil man who calls himself a "Christian" and who foams at the mouth over how far our country has fallen into immorality, who, at the same time, can also proudly post the most vile and filthy prose to ever hit the forum.

I'm ashamed that more folks here don't feel the same way.

-- Unc D (unkeed@yahoo.com), July 06, 1999.

How long "Spain" will go before asking some female on the "preps" forum to mud wrestle? Personally, the "preps" forum is no different than any forum where I have little interest in the subject matter. My formative years were spent on a largely self-sufficient ranch in Montana. I've actually lived the lifestyle some of the forum posters are so busy planning. I think much of the preparation information already exists. Just buy Carla Emery's book and you'll have more information than a thousand TB 2000 threads... with a lot less "white noise" including the countless personal attacks.

In my opinion, it's a little funny to see the pessmists' victory dance. Let's see who's dancing next year.

Regards,

I sense a disturbance in the force...........

I sense the return of the one.......who is not yet one with the spoon

You must learn INVAR........

Have you yet felt the force.....has balance come into your life......

Can you bend the spoon INVAR.........

The spoon knows all........

So I am guessing Rico is threatening to kill myself and my family? You are sure full of love and compassion. And who says that I have not prepped. I have 4 weeks of canned food on hand and am saving hard plastic two liter pop bottles, and fruit juice containers(two liter) to keep water if needed.

But the whole point of the post was that Jan 1, 99, Feb 99, April 1st, June 30 and July 1 have all passed and still not one major problem has arrived. Gary North, Ed Yourdon, Michael Hyatt, Rick Cowles, Y2KLoserwire and others all continue to push back the dates for Y2K to show its ugly head.

I swear Cory said that by now we would have the Jo Anne effect slowing the economy down, and what about the next set of doom dates. Aug 22, September 9, and October 1? And I bet even old Gary will say that the real test for computers will be Feb 29, 2000 after his predictions of Jan 1 fail miserably.

And for a note, Art Bell is publishing a book for release by Dec 99 about how to survive the coming ice age that will grip the Earth soon after 2000. With Gary Norths track record of being wrong on a continual basis and his continued selling of the Remnant Review till 2001, I bet that will be the next big disater.

-- Mrwaycool (doomzombies@goingaway.com), July 06, 1999.

Not ONE major Y2K problem? Thats clearly NOT an accurate statement.

Thanks Diane for that insightful look at, as I have now come to the conclusion that the explosion of the space shuttle Challenger in 1986 was from a Y2K failure. And how about all those bombs, Im guessing they are all triggered by Y2K faillures.

Keep connecting the otherwise completely unrelated bits of info to Y2K.

-- Mrwaycool (doomzombies@aregoingaway.com), July 06, 1999.

Mrwaycool... NOT.

Keep trying to NOT see the interconnections.

May you live in "interesting" times.

Congrats Diane. I would love to know exactly how you live in a wonderful world that defies reality? The Challenger post tries to connect engineering to Y2K problems. Guess what, the parallel is flawed.

What about all the engineering problems that have not resulted in deaths? Things fail all the time, and guess what, the world still exists. Ever have a refigerator die or need to replace a old furnace? Why didn't they just explode when something went wrong?

And how many shuttle launches are delayed to problems, and the end results does not have a huge explosion occur.
