Has anyone purchased "Y2k Perscription Meds Survival Guide from Dear Karen for $149

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Supposedly this contains the instructions for legally purchasing perscription drugs out of Europe at greatly reduced prices. Personally, I was burned real bad on one of Dear Karen's other book recommendations. Can't remember what name was or where I threw it. Maybe in the garbage. But supposedly told you how to take care of all medical emergencies, etc. It was $97 and wasn't worth $10. The Red Cross First Aid manual is far better. I would like to purchase a year's worth of perscription drugs but am not going to spend $149 for the info and would not really trust the info after the other book deal. Hope to hear from someone who knows the where and hows to order drugs out of Europe.

Taz....who spends an awful lot on RX.

I went to the Life Extension Foundation, remembering that they had information on European drugs. They had a link to a group called Libertarian Solutions:

While you're at, I recommend looking at the Life Extension Foundation. They have extensive nutritional and disease prevention and treatment information. They are very scientific, and back up their protocols with peer reviewed scientific studies.

Taz -- E-mail me. E-mail address is real. peace, Libby

Taz,

I have several relatives and friends that are extremely dependent upon medication, so I purchased this guide through Michael Hyatt's website. Since I just received it, I haven't had a chance to thoroughly review it yet. So I can't tell you how it's going to work; but on first glance, it appears to be legit.

y2kp; the only thing that sucks around here is you.

Y2K Pro,

$149 worth of insurance for the health of those I love is a price I'm willing to pay. If that makes me a sucker, so be it. If 1/1/00 comes and goes with no problems, my conscience will be clear.

You, on the other hand, have chosen to play Russian roulette with your life and the lives of your family. For your pathetic sake (as well as the sake of all those who WON'T or can't prepare), I sincerely hope the chamber comes up empty on 1/1/00.

I have never understood how someone could claim to want to help people and then put a price on that help. I bet Karen Anderson didn't pay $149 for her copy. I told my Dr. that worrying about not having my medication after the first of the year was making me have panic attacks and that I may have to go see a lawyer about why he was deliberatly keeping me worried about my medication. I got a year prescription for all my medication and had it filled.

Included with this month's Firestorm Chats from Gary North was 8 page letter from the publisher, Bruce Tippery. He is pushing "Dr. X's underground guide to Y2K medical survival. The special reduced price is $97. plus s&h. Has anyone seen it? I've been tempted to order it. He makes a lot of claims in the 8 pages. What do you think?

I bought YeK Prescription Medicine Survival Guide from Michael J.B. McCormick for $149.00 and found the prices of the meds were just about the same as in the USA and that most of what I need are not listed! Am asking to return the publication and get a refund. Ouch!

I just received my copy of the book; it does indeed seem to be quite well researched, providing a lot of legal backup documentation so should there ever be any question as to the legality, you are well covered.

There is a very easy step-by-step procedure that must be followed to the letter if you make sure that you get prompt service from the recommended providers and also that you are on good legal standing. I am currently negotiating (via e-mail) with the providers regarding my one prescription, as it does not appear in their immediately available stock.

Once our new "preparations only please" forum is up and running, I'll do a report on what I found. As was noted, there is a 30 day money back guarantee if you are not happy.

nabi,

i've written a book you just gotta buy. it's called "the last y2k book you will ever have to read in your entire life....honest." it cost $999.99. that may seem a little steep but if it really is the last book you'll have to buy (and trust me it is) i think the price is well justified.

a wealth of information salute to ya.

Thanks for the useful info. The book DR X UNDERGROUND GUIDE, etc. is a rip off first class in my opinion. I have spent 25 years in the paramedical field and you are better off with a Red Cross book. I didn't send my copy back for a refund, as I marked in it when reading it so was screwed! I will be interested in following through on the above info. Thanks alot

Taz....who needs her meds

This may sound a bit dumb but have you talked to your Dr.?? He works for You, you pay him. Mine has been very helpful, he has given me meds for dog, just in case.

-- && (&&@&&.&), July 05, 1999.

corrine,

Thanks for the offer, but I don't imagine that you have a single thing that I need.

-- Nabi Davidson (nabi7@yahoo.com), July 05, 1999.

Taz : Try www.pharmacyinternational.com

I personally have not tried them yet due to the rigamarole you have to go thru if you don't have a credit card, but you could test them out with small orders to see if you get them.

try looking for a site called "Santfe" Use your search engine. This might be helpful.

Good luck...

Better check this out first

http://www.snowcrest.net/drugreport/

Or just call the post office. It isn't legal to ship scheduled drugs through the mail from outside the US. You get caught, you go to jail. Or call

202-307-7182

and just ask the DEA. Is it worth going to jail to try to get something you can get legally just by fussing with your doctor? At worst, your Dr. will have a supply laid in with YOUR name on it at a local hospital, and they can't use it for anyone else. I know - had to have it done for a daughter with special requirements for vocal cord dysfunction. Had to have a special heli/oxy mix to breathe, or she would suffocate from the vocal cords locking up tight so she couldn't breathe.

I checked out the:

"Y2k Perscription Meds Survival Guide from Dear Karen for $149"

for a friend. They do business out of a 'mailbox etc' in Redondo beach California. They won't accept payment by any means that can bounce back or get them investigated, AKA credit cards. My gut says con.

-- Art (artw@lancnews.infi.net), July 05, 1999.

Sorry, Paul, I guess I should have clarified that you can't order marijuana, heroin, cocaine, PCP, methamphetamine, LSD,codeine, etc thru the mail. Scheduled drugs include any drug that could be abused or addictive in any way so it also includes Valium and Xanax and hydrocodone and Tylenol with codeine and certain cough medicines.

Non-scheduled drugs are perfectly legal but you are limited to either a 30 or 90 day supply and they must be for the person ordering them.

One other point, scheduled drugs could include drugs which have not passed testing in the US.

-- sue (deco100@aol.com), July 06, 1999.

Dear Karen has 10 copies of the prescription drug thing for loaners. All you need to do is write her a letter describing your situation (probably especially financial), include your phone number and address and she will send you a copy to borrow for 10 days. Check out her web-site. I'm at work at the moment, but will post the address when I get home.

-- Libby Alexander (libbyalex@aol.com), July 06, 1999.

Sue: another thing I would worry about is temperature. Lots of drugs need to be kept cool. Around here it is 99 in the shade during the day right now - and it will get worse by the middle of August. How many days is that going to knock off the shelf life of any drugs you get through the mail?

Also, not every country has the quality control on drugs we enjoy in the US. Let the buyer beware!
