including the trolls and the pollies. Through all the crap that goes on here this is still the best country for "your money". With Canada coming in a very close second.

Diane that was great--the only celebration I had for the 4th! Thanks! I live in a tourist area, and we locals take cover. BUIs and DUIs cause the most firesworks. ha

Diane

(Happy Forth!)

Gayla, how nice of you. I love the Star Spangled Banner, and Istill get all misty-eyed and patriotic when I hear it. That was so neat. I enjoyed it. Thanks a lot.

Diane, I'm a little hesitant about teaching the "forum" how to play music. It's not too hard, but I taught DiETeR how to play the "chicken dance" song, and have lived to regret it! :-)

Now before yer git yer feathers in a huff, this ain't no political endorsement of nuttin, just a sweet little AP Breaking News article:

7/4/99 -- 8:47 PM

Vice president's daughter has Fourth of July baby

WASHINGTON (AP) - Vice President Al Gore's first grandchild was born on the Fourth of July.

The Gores' daughter, Karenna Gore Schiff, 25, and her husband, Drew Schiff, 33, had been expecting the baby in late June.

But with the instincts of a politician, Wyatt Gore Schiff delayed his inaugural appearance until Sunday - Independence Day.

The vice president's office in Washington announced that he was born at 10:05 a.m. in New York City, weighing in at 6 pounds, 3 ounces and measuring 20 inches long.

The vice president and wife Tipper were in New York on Sunday to be with the young couple and their new son.

The two were married at Washington National Cathedral in 1997. Mrs. Schiff is in her second year at Columbia University law school.

``Al and I are thrilled about the prospect of becoming grandparents for the first time,'' Mrs. Gore said in a statement issued in February announcing that her daughter was pregnant. ``We look forward to welcoming our first grandchild.''

Diane

(Ok, Michael... your turn!)

-- Diane J. Squire (sacredspaces@yahoo.com), July 05, 1999.

Hahaha...Diane's "bottle of wine dancing left and right, pulling back to release the first sip" -and- Ashton and Leska's "baby hammering" are so clever and hilarious. No wonder I've set my brouser's "home page button" to this forum: http://www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a- new-answers.tcl?topic=TimeBomb%202000%20%28Y2000%29

Thanks again for being such special people and so dedicated to this forum. With the remaining time left, today feels like an appropriate time to reach out and say thanks to all G.I.'s and Polly's.

The trolls know what they can do with their bottle rocket(s). Don't forget to pack a cherrybomb on the end if the charge fits!

Sincerly,
