Russian Bank Closures Put Squeeze on Oligarchs
July 2, 1999

SUMMARY

Russias Central Bank on June 29 pulled the licenses of four of the country s major banks Uneximbank, Mosbiznesbank, Promstroibank, and Mezhkombank. While seen as primarily a gesture aimed at winning the favor of the IMF, the bank closures may reflect a deeper struggle against and among Russias oligarchs and the death throes of Russias experiment with the West.

It is clear to everyone involved that Russias Westernizing experiment is in its last days. Those who profited the most from it know they are the first against the wall when the revolution comes, unless they can position themselves for what comes next. If that means feeding each other to the communists, nationalists, and even to the last miserable apostles of the West, so be it.

Considering where Milne lives, I can't see why he seems to like stuff like this. He is in one of the worst possible places for fallout.

Common knowledge dictates that just three feet of soil will protect from 99% of all radiation, even Gamma type radiation and X-rays. Tolerable conditions for a human being. Add a half a foot of concrete to that mixture and you'd never know the civilized world had just been irradiated. Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to dig I go.

Maybe Milne has got a bunker.

I think Paul's location is quite safe. Think natural convection. Think of all the hot air coming out of D.C. - he'll be just fine!

-- Don (dwegner@cheyenneweb.com), July 02, 1999.

Not really. Think "prevailing winds."

-- Prometheus (fire@for.man), July 02, 1999.

Maybe they'll implode and take themselves out.

Speaking of prevailing winds. There seems to be good info on wind direction etc from ground 0 sites, but not from North American nuke reactor sites. I live in the Seattle area and would like to know what happens if the reactor in SW WA melts down......I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Milne. From csY2K he helped get me started on preps, summer of 97....Tim

I hope Paul Milne and his family are at peace with God, because their location, being so near to Washington, D.C., would be within a major fallout zone.

This tra-la-la theme reminds me of the Banana Splits show. They were pretending. The Russians and Chinese are not.

I live somewhat near the D.C./N.VA. region. I once was worried about fallout but no more. (1) Why would you nuke your best friends? (2) If you really are an enemy of the American people, would YOU remove the biggest nest of non-productive financial parasites of liberty's life blood for free? (3) You always want someone left to surrender. (4) Hey! There's a lot of neat stuff at the Smithsonian! (5) After all, who do you think is directing the attack? I could go on, but if you want a TOP TEN list, you'll have to watch Letterman. He gets paid for this stuff.
