EOS A2 and using Quantum QT2 TTL module

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

I took the plunge and bought a Quantum QT2 flash for my Bronica outfit, but the brochure also mentioned that Quantum made a TTL module for Canon EOS bodies and listed the A2/A2E so I bought one. It seems to work but the A2 automatically sets to 1/60 at F/4 in program mode or green mode and no matter what I try it will not change. Is this me or the camera. I want to set my F-stop to f/11 or f/16 (this is a powerful flash) but I can't figure out how to do it. Anyone who has any suggestions please respond.

Thanks, Marcus J.

First check your custom function settings. I don't own an A2, but I know there are CF setting which default to 1/60 to max sync speed in some flash modes.

Then (after checking), try aperture priority mode. That should do it. I'd guess the green zone won't let you change much. It's more or less the "hands off", "point and shoot" setting for users with no idea of what they should be doing. Safe, but not very flexible.

My Elan II does the same thing, but is fine in aperture priority. Fully manual exposure will allow you to set both shutter speed and aperture to whatever you want.
