Notice any price changes? Or lack of stock. We did very well at yard sales, people still selling good stuff? This is more ON topic than most. How much is gas in you area?

Gas in northwestern Ohio is still stable. The local stores are well stocked, and it seems that most residents are still DGIs. This is to be expected during times of prosperity.

But when the stock market crashes, the herd will stampede.

Same as above - no noticable change in any market, if you're interested in the mid-Mississippi situation.

Gas prices here in central western Washington after the pipeline burst up north of here are all over the map. Favorite ARCO in Auburn is at $1.19 while the Flying J truck stop across from Costco in Federal Way is at $1.39 with diesel at $1.49 and at Texaco across the street at $1.42.

At Costco on Thursday they had 8 new Generac 5250 (4000 watt with Honda engines in them) for $699. They already went through the 10 they had delivered in a UHaul the 16th of this month. This time they also had 25 gal. water storage barrels sitting right next to the generators which is the first time I've seen those in Costco. There were 4 of them in a space that probably would have held at least 18 of them. Also noticed they have about doubled the usual supply of all sizes of batteries. This was all at the end of one aisle. Thought it was verrry interesting.

Also, in my water bill, seems Covington Water district got some kind of award for selling 1300 water barrels at their recent sale - kudos for their customers trying to "conserve ground water". Yeah right - these were 55 gallon plastic barrels with lids that were from the pickle factory and therefore food grade at $8 each. Brine and the occasional pickle were in the ones we got. Do you believe all those barrels were for catching rainwater???

Interesting week to say the least.

I have noticed a distinct lack of sales on canned goods here in FL lately.

They must be selling well.

I have been told that Fred Meyers in Western Washington is selling those blue 55 gal water drums. They have never carried those before! hmmmmmmm.

I have specifically asked clerks at WinnDixie and WalMart here in Florida, if people are stocking up. They say no. WalMart has certainly jacked their prices up in the last month and not the sales on food that they had. The only sales are on soft drinks, chips, cookies, etc, but not anything you NEED of can store. We never see water barrels or anything like that at Sam's. I am always looking in people's carts to see what they are buying. They are either already prepared or haven't a clue. And I KNOW they are not prepared.

We can get unleaded for $1.15 a pop over at the local BP station. Good gas for a good price, thats my motto.

99 cents per gallon at an Exxon in Houston. (regular) Been holding steady at that price for 4 weeks.

Gas in our N. Calif. Town $1.32/Gal. Local Longs Drugs running some good canned fruit sales. I picked up a 3 burner Coleman stove (lq. fuel) for $12. at a yard sale. It's a big one. I have a 2 burner so one will be a back-up. With 3 burner, I can bake in my coleman oven and cook at the same time.
