Did the press question the president today at today's news conference about y2k

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

During the middle of the day I was channel surfing on my radio and heard the president holding a live press conference. I wasnt able to catch very much of it so I dont know if any questions about y2k were thrown his way. I suspect not from the little piece of the conference I heard. If any body out there heard the full press conference please give us a report. I think that the media is still missing in action.

They're still snoozing (or being drugged).

I think that the media is still missing in action.

MIA? Rather, DOA.

For as long as I watched it, including the Q&A, about 50 minutes or so... NO.

The media still sleeps.

Wait until the fall... perhaps they'll slowly stir. Or not. They tend to "react" to news rather than pre-anticipate it.

Next year should keep them busy.

This is how we know how serious the y2k problem is. When the corporate controlled media is in deathly fear of asking the president before the world questions like Mr . President what are we going to do if the y2k makes the infrastructure fail. What are your plans to keep our nation fed and running. What are your plans to keep the banks open. How will we keep the oil flowing. How will we minimize the danger to our forces overseas. How will we minimize the risks here. Specifics. Y2k is a life and death issue of great importance. Our media's silence is deafning. Our journalist are corporate Whores who have sold us and themselves out. You know the consitutution is history when we can get this great important public matter aired in public. To put our president on the spot who is suppose to be elected by the people to get him to give us some answers. To all those people who are in the media who come to this site, great shame is now on your profession. Do something to recticfy it.

Don't forget that a great portion of the mainstream press is big business financed by other big businesses through advertising dollars. These sponsoring corporations have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo and must factor into the y2k spin.
