Okay, here goes, I'll keep it short and sweet. Sorry for wasting a thread which I personally hate and have criticized for doing... but this needs to be said.

I already went over what it takes to be taken seriously around here. Post interesting things in a manner consistent with the forum, take your time and edit your posts, and try not to get too inflamatory with your remarks (i.e. "GOD is going to put the smack down on you for thinking that way"). Especially when it come to religion.

As much as it pains me to say it, you are welcome here to post. Your right about the foul language and I think everyone can tone it down a bit. I'm sorry I got caught up in the excitement, I have no excuse.

But the real reason why I'm posting here about this is becasue I have seen you make remarks on other threads and every time you do people flame you, and the thread veers WAY off course and the value is lost. I know you will sit there reading this and think I'm a snob or whatever. But the fact is, your style and the content in which you post is causing people to flame you. You've been told why, and how to stop.

If you have any respect for this forum at all you will take responsibility for your actions.

Some people have an abrasive personality. Okay, I admit that freely and your still welcome to post here. But for the sake of all the other threads here, please stop acting like your God's special little creature and your not doing anything wrong, because I think you know that you are. Even if your not doing it intentionally (which I'm not so sure about given the history of trolls around here) your disrupting the forum and I am asking you nicely, please get some help with your editing, please stop throwing the God references around so much, and please for the sake of everyone involved stop instigating fight

One posted by Ashton and Leska was damaged by the nonesense and a few others that I won't mention. Obviously the moderators can't be everywhere all the time so let's give each other a little courtesy and keep this flaming confined. It's really getting out of hand.

How do I know? INVAR would deny it in a heartbeat, but he hasn't. He still lurks here. (When he isn't posting as al-d)

al-d has not denied it, and in fact brought up the issue of how INVAR was "picked" on here.

Well this is my handle and real email. I have'nt really defended al-d or flamed him/her either. It is getting to the point where 1/4 of the threads are about al-d. I might suggest we boycott him/her post and soon he/she will get tired on zero attention and leave. If al-d is the person that they portray themselves then they do need some help. Hey,al-d, IMO, you have not been offensive. Actually, the flamers and critics have revealed their natures consistently, in plain site for all to see. I thank you for your contributions to this forum and to my preps, which has included the intangible aspect of life and humanity, as Arlin mentioned above. The respondents flock to your posts if you will notice.(Check no's# in new answers.) Sometimes, they just argue and hurl insults continually to each other!! That's when I LOL. I have lurked around this forum for a year now and posted only a few times,and I'm getting to know most of you a little bit better each day. Most of you are really sharp, some of you are down-right brilliant. You range from the meek to the Cosa Nostra thug, from the devout to the secular believer-haters, from the most concerned G.I.'s to the most frustrated trolls. Al-d, from where I see it, you are as important to the harmony of this forum as anyone who has ever posted here. He seems to have really lit into us, compared to his one-time hits on the others. He seems to be a sincere, but new -- and semi-deranged -- "Christian", so that part of him is not trollish in a deliberate attempt to disrupt the forum. But if it is the best he can offer, it is still not appropriate to drench us with.

His useless ramblings, quickly lurching into obscenity, should not be tolerated here.

The advice to boycott, or "pay him no never-mind", is good, except it takes 95% compliance to discourage him, and we won't get that.

He is an accident on our way to y2k, not an enemy.

His threads should be deleted. His posts to other threads should be deleted if excessively repetitive, or if they violate content standards applied to all others as well.

The *real* trolls just love seeing us get tripped up by a mentally- unbalanced person like Al D*i*c*l, of T*u*h or C*n*e*u*n*e*, N.M. I knew and studied enough nut cases in my 20s; I don't need one of my VITAL RESOURCES in the next few crucial months eaten up by one or more of them.
