At least they're MENTIONING it!

I've never run into such a taboo before. Talking about y2k is almost like asking someone how much they earn!

I'ts probably because I work at a bank.

They probably give us a version of Ko-skin-em's new and improved "Corporate Conversations"!

My employer issued an e-mail saying that they were installing a generator in the computer department, just in case... But, of course, no one's worried about anything.

So... while our employees are freezing their unprepared butts off in the dark, our office computers will be purring along, compliant or otherwise.

I'm at an HMO - will place PO for an extra 3 month's printing supplies (that's really all HMOs do: print stuff) in September. Not one product we use is made in the USA.

Oh, another thing: I'm sure we could convince purchasing to approve a three-month reserve of coffee, tea, sugar, etc. But could I get HR to tell employees to have the same? Heck, no.

I work for a fully automated Bio-tech firm. Overheard the plant manager's conversation of the media coverage of y2k. They're gonna scare the general population so they'll guarantee problems in the new year. it's taboo around here

We have been sooooo busy getting the main systems to by Y2K ready, that no one has bothered to start upgrading the desktops yet. We're still running Windows 95.

I can just see us in January... the AS400 is up and running, but no one can access it.
