Go get a tape of the TNT channel's show, "Pirates of Silicon Valley." I make it a point of never watching the boob toob, but my family told me it was a flick about Bill Gates. It got my attention enuf to sit there for 2 hours.

I think it showed last Sunday nite. It gives a revealing bio of Steve Jobs, Woz, and crew. But more relevant to y2k is the bio on Bill Gates and cronies. When you see what they did you may not believe it.

Well, it happened. A few quibbling details were incorrect (e.g., The Homebrew Computer Club met at the Stanford Linear Accelator Bldg, not in Berkeley.)

How do I know? I vas dere, Chollie -- at least up until 1981. And then I was able to ck into what Billy Boy was doing in Redmond, by going to occasional conferences and one of them as an invitee by Microsoft. It really happened, folks. Bill never created ANYTHING worthwhile except a monstrous bank account and the impression that he could save the world with personal computers. He INVENTED Windows? You've got to be kidding!!!!!! This guy can 'fix y2k?' Criminies!!!!

Yeah, he has validity. He is one of those folks that we used to call "robber barons." He's a tough, hard-nosed business dude. His genius is not in the puter side, but rather in staffing and then in attacking the competition. And he takes no prisoners. And he jammed us with this MS-DOS OS that is enough to drive one to distraction.

Say it's just a bump in the road -- one that's more than the shock absorbers can handle, and breaks many axis -- we will be tracking to see if Macintosh sales see a spurt.

There are some exciting new developments getting ready to roll off Apple's line -- it'll take some big fireworks for the masses to GI about the Mac advantage.

Yep, Steve Jobs is the iCEO, he done saved Apple yessirree, and he's the owner/head of Pixar: A Bug's Life (heeheehee), Toy Story, etc. He's married, having lotsa kids, doing real well. Quite a story there, to rise from the ashes so dramatically so many times. Heard he's even learning how to treat people right nice. Evolution in the revolution!
