Location of Sunny Cove

Where was the location of a beach known as Sunny Cove? I have a postcard with a picture of my grandfather & some friends wearing tank shirts with the words "Sunny Cove" across the front. The card was postmarked 08/26/1910 from San Francisco, and was printed by Premium Postal Studio, 1311 Fillmore Street, S.F.

Thanks!

I'm not sure where "Sunny Cove" was located, but there are lots of old place names that have dropped out of contemporary use (e.g. Willow Camp for Stinson Beach). Is there any indication aside from the postmark that the photo was taken in San Francisco? The name doesn't seem appropriate to any of the ocean beaches within City limits! Is it possible to see a scan of the photo? If so, I might be of more assistance.

It could be that Sunny Beach was what is now known as China Beach, down below the Seacliff area. The beach is sunny, and reportedly has the warmest and safest waters for swimming in the entire San Francisco area. However, this is just speculation. But if you look into the origins of China Beach, you may find your answer. Another suggestion is Aquatic Park, near the wharf.

Sunny Cove is a beach between 16th and 17th avenue in Santa Cruz California were the waves are awesome and the beach is small. This place is a made match for local bodyboarders and body surfers.
