Rolleiflex SL35 E

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Photography Singapore : One Thread

Hi,

I wonder does anyone of you who is still actively using the Rolleiflex SL35 system? Recently my camera is failing, and I hope to switch to the SL35M or the SL35 to replace the E (electronic). Any help from any kind soul?

(It is a really poor camera body. HOWEVER, the lenses such as my 50mmF1.4/ 135mm F2.8 are much much more superior than Nikon or even the Leica Minilux, I love my Rollei)

Dear Jonathan,

Though I love Rollei but I'm not into their 35mm system. I'm using the Rolleiflex TLRs.

Options for servicing. Jebson & Jesson, Prime Camera and Harry Fleenor from California.

Have I given you the correct and sufficient info or have I missed out something?

Hi

Sorry but like to piggyback this posting....

Does anyone have a copy of the rolleiflex Sl35 manual?

Could you mail me a copy too? Would be very grateful. TIA.

Sorry I don't have any answers, but I've just bought a second hand Rollei SL35 E with 50mm Rollei lens in good condition for about $70 in Jakarta. Couldn't resist trying it! Unfortunately I've never used a Rollei and I don't have the manual......so if anyone could help me to understand how the camera works (light meter) etc, I would be very grateful. I photograph mostly in Black & White and thought that this camera might be a good SLR to use in the city. I've yet to fall in love with one particular brand so maybe the Rollei will be the one! Oh Yes! I also need a user manual for this Rolleiflex SL35 E. Anybody who already succeeded getting it? A PDF file will be very nice. A word DOC file will also be a great help. I got mine with Voigtlaender Autowinder E, both brand new and will try to find lens for it here in Germany. Looking for some inputs. Thanks!

I have a relatively new Rolleiflex SL 35 that had been put away for over 20 years. It has a 1.8/50 Carl Zeiss lens, 2.8/85 Carl Zeiss lens, 4/200 Carl Zeiss lens, and a 1:2.8 28mm Rollei Lens that was made in Japan. In testing the camera, it seems that the film wind mechanism is locked up and I do not want to damage the unit, so I want to find a Rollei Repair store that can check on this problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Jack Nida Atlanta, GA

Hi, I mainly use a Nikon system but I've been toting around my dad's Rolleiflex SL35 since I was about 10. There's an old needle style meter which is painfully slow to use, but I use a hand-held meter and mainly use this body as a back-up body. I LOVE the lens, it's a Carl Zeiss Planar 50/1.4 and the sharpness and colour is better than my Nikon equivalent. It takes great full-length portraits and doubles up as a wonderful loupe. What I want to know is, where can I get other lenses for it in Australia? Are they specific mounts or will they take other lenses?

You can get a manual for the Rollei 35SLE at www.manuals2go.com. It's available on a CD, in print form or as a download, your choice. Price is $6.99 (plus postage for the CD or hardcopy).
