Movie {Parisian newspaper article} : LUSENET : TitanicShack : One Thread

Hello all. It's me, Josh again! O.K. here's an interesting tid bit of info I just found out.

I went to Paris last summer, in the begging of July. While there, I recieved a newspaper artical about Titanic. I was too busy to read it and didn't understand it anyways. Well, as I was just cleaning out my rooms, I found this artical. It is now 1 year later and I have a much better understanding of the French language. I took time to read it and found it very interesting! Here's what it said. Titanic 2. In the sequel to Titanic, Jack is not dead. He lives on. Apprently a boat resuced him after Rose and he did survive. He was however, in a coma in a hospital for 3 days. The same actors were supposed to play in it too.

Now this is almost a year old and I have not heard anything like this at all in the U.S. Is there any truth to this newspaper artical? I thought it was quit interesting and personally hope that there will be a Titanic 2.

Response to Movie

I hope this is not true. A sequel would ruin it. That Jack lived on is too far fetched because he was in the ice-cold water a long time. I think this is just false rumors.

Response to Movie

False rumors! I read the newspaper artical myself! Are you calling me a liar?

ANd it would not ruin it. He wasn't in the water too long, and he was able to have some of his body out of the water. Like I said, he would be in a coma.

Paris? Well, you *do* get around.

Josh, I don't doubt that there was such a newspaper article, just that the idea for the sequel was only a rumour.

Kelly posted a fairly long description last year in an earlier Q&A thread which seems to describe a very similar sequel idea.

How would they explain the fact that in Titanic, Rose believes Jack died that night? That's an awfully hard thing to get around if they wanted to do a sequel.

-- Nonnie (, June 25, 1999.

Yes, that would be a plot hole, wouldn't it? I doubt that we'll see a true sequel. A parallel story with a different set of characters might be a possibility, but a continuation of the story of Jack and Rose seems unlikely.

By the way, Kelly posted that sequel outline a few months ago, not last year...

There is no Jack or Rose that was just on the move all started on april 10 1912 the titanic left england(true)on april 14 1912 the titanic hit an ice burg captain E.J Smith wasnt awake to help people aboard the lifeboats. So he was asleep no one nows if he died with the ship or he woke up and got on a life boat. All the police men gathered the girls and put them on the lifeboats.Over 1,500 people died with the ship.Over 500 lived. The beautiful ship was sinking. The water filled up backside of the boat first. Then it broke in half and the front side sunk so did the back side.If you go see the titanic right now in the atlantic ocean. It will still be there.Sorry people there is no Jack or Rose.

in the film rose takes off jacks life jacket and he sinks 2 the bottom dead, so inless he randomly floats and becomes alive there can't be a sequal!

Even if there would be a sequel, it would suck. Rose already died in the first one. What's the point of a second TITANIC?

-- CindyF (, May 02, 2004.

its better for younger people to understand the titanic if there is a second one of every thing
