y2k test causes sewage spill, the crap has hit the fan. The odor will go around the world

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

On the Drudge report y2k test caused a major sewage leak. They wont be able to cover the stink of the y2k coverup for very much longer. The y2k coverup stinks and I think this news is an approiate way to expose the danger of what were facing. Govt officials take notice our families are at risk.

Mike, do you have a link?

Was it a "test" or a real, live, failure? Is it due to an embedded system?

heeheeeheeee, we fed that VERY TRUE report to Drudge early this morning.

Y2K Test Fails - 4 million gallons of sewage escapes

That's my favourite site.....where they talk at length about the different ways to remove silt from waterways........uh.......

hmmm.....sorry, that's the Dredge Report..........my mistake.....

Golly by Polly! One Y2k test caused a spill in one location!

By illogical extension, and panic-mongering/advertising/survivalist marketing logic;

that must mean that this will happen everywhere, all over the world!

*****

In a related incident, there was a fatal car accident about ten miles down the road from where I live today.

You folks better not get in your cars for a while: since it happened where I live, it's going to happen where you live, too. No doubt about it. There will be no safe cars from henceforth.

According to "polly logic", EVERY Y2K failure is an "isolated incident". So, if we end up having a MILLION of them, well, it's not like that's SIGNIFICANT or anything....

You betcha.

Got preps done yet?

-- Dennis (djolson@pressenter.com), June 17, 1999.

So okay Dennis,

where are your million spills?

-- Chicken Little (panic@forthebirds.net), June 18, 1999.

A brain the size of a planet.

-- Andy (2000EOD@prodigy.net), June 18, 1999.

Where are they? Tick... Tick... Tick... Hang around; you'll see. But according to polly logic, it STILL wouldn't be significant....

(and it's not a million SPILLS; it's a million INCIDENTS - of various kinds)

-- Dennis (djolson@pressenter.com), June 18, 1999.

Chicken Little,

I think that by extension we can expect that this CAN happen, and MAY happen.

Just like with the car accident. It CAN happen elsewhere, and it MAY happen elsewhere.

One difference worth noting is, we HAVE statistics relating to cars and accidents, but NONE for y2k. y2k is an unknown by comparison to car accidents.

Now, who wants a drumstick?

Will someone post the URL, please?

It is my understanding they were testing a Y2k SCENARIO where there is power failure, and a gate/valve malfunctioned.

This wasn't a Y2k failure in and of itself, as it would have happened anyway if they lost power for any reason, Y2k or not.
