Monkeyflowers

Taken in North Cascades National Park, Olympus OM-1, handheld, Kodachrome 25. Interesting lighting effect on the water, I have not been able to duplicate it.

George, I find your crop interesting, however, that reflection on the water detracts from the flowers.

This image doesn't quite make it for me. I find that the flower sticking out in the top left hand portion of the frame is out of place, and seems a little bit akward. I would try to isolate a single flower or aspect of the photo, and try to make it stand out more next time.

I see three different problems in this photo:

1- You should use a zoom or tele lens ... the subject (the flower) is too far. 2- The background is a maze ... maybe another view point.

3- You should use a polarizer filter to reduce the reflections on the water.

But nice try ... sometimes it happens ... you see and image and think it will be recorded perfectly on the film but the technical aspects are there too ...
