Subject: White-on-Blue Highway Signs Go Up

Comment:
A reader sent me digital photos of two signs that have been posted in the past few weeks. One says this:

W

Interstate 40

380

0

The sign is incoherent, as is. I have seen nothing like it before. I had to read the Arkansas handbook for road signs when I moved from Texas. I saw nothing in it that referred to signs like this one.

If signs like these are going up fast and all over the country, with no training for drivers in how to read them, then I have to conclude that the signs are not designed to give instructions to the general public. Who, then?

There is something else. Signs are a distraction. Signs that appear to be official call attention to themselves. They pull people's eyes away from the road. They will confuse people who are not trained to read them. To add unfamiliar signs to high speed highways without teaching the public how to read them is to increase risks. Why would these distractions deliberately be added to our highways without showing drivers how to interpret them?

Another says:

380

TO

40E

Same problem. I have seen no signs like these in the past.

Pay attention to your local interstates. See if you begin seeing these.

I am sure of this much: this is a very expensive proposition. If it is happening all over the country, then it is centrally directed. By what agency? Who is paying for this? I would like some y2k-aware elected official to follow the money. Why the hurry in putting up these signs? Why no training of the public in how to read these signs? On the face of it, this does not make sense.

Martial law? The signs makes very good sense.

Here is what the picture-sender says. Remember: rumors are cheap, but highway signs aren't. Until I have evidence to the contrary, I choose to believe the rumor, though maybe not the UN part.

It's the timing and lack of proper training of the public that tells me this is not what it appears to be. If you have a year-old driver's ed book that refers to these signs, or a state drivers' test booklet, send a photocopy of the pages on these signs, along with an ID of the publication, to P. O. Box 8000, Tyler, TX 75711.

* * * * * * * * * *

I was speakiing with someone yesterday and he asked if I had noticed all the new blue and white signs on all the Interstates here. I said I had not, and he said that there are loads of new signs that have just been installed, he was told by a government official he knows personally, to direct the national guard, army and United Nations troops during the y2k martial law.

Later we were on the Interstate and saw that at every exit there are 5 signs leading up to the exit. They are blue and white and have the Interstate number on top, then the exit number under that, and how many tenths of a mile to the exit under that. They start at .8 mile, and are followed by .6, .4, .2 and 0. These signs have no English words on them, except some on the exit ramp have the word "to", ie. I-40 to 388, and are obviously meant for people who are totally unfamiliar with the area and don't speak English.

Thought this might provoke some thought and comments.

Answers

Will the signs on the Interstate work in conjunction with the traffic lights to help guide the troops around once they are inside the cities?

Gary should really think before he even posts something that makes his cause seem utterly for a lack of a better term, crazy. He likes how the letter sounds and he uses it. And of course we have third party verification of what this is. The person that emailed him the letter did not tell him this, a friend of a friend told him.

Ray,

This item has stirred a lot of attention today. See my comment in the Pageing Chuck, from Flame Away, just below this thread on the main page.

Pat ........... Yada ....... Yada ..........Yada .....

Gordon, thanks for pointing this out. I had not been able to access the forum since early this am.

Question, why wouldn't the military just use the road signs that are already in place to navigate? Why the cloak-and-dagger stuff? Just pick up a f-ing road atlas for pete's sake. I think this is just too "conspiracy theory" to give much thought. I know it sounds all very covert and militaristic but I reiterate, why not just use maps and highway markers for reference?

-- (notapolly@notadoomer.just me), June 12, 1999.

I do think it's natural to suspect some of the covert stuff our own military is doing right now. They have been pulling these simulated response actions at a number of places during the last couple months. They did it just a couple weeks ago on two vacant apartment buildings just south of Philadelphia and scared heck out of the locals. What's up there? As long as they are playing these secret games, speculation about their motives and intentions are all valid.

-- Gordon (gpconnolly@aol.com), June 12, 1999.

White on Blue signs, according to the Driver's Manual, are Motor Services Signs. These "direct you to services, such as phones, gas, food, motels, hospitals and rest areas."

Turning the pages ... nothing in there about tanks, checkpoints, processing centers, railcars, work camps, columns, hhhmm.

Nope, there can't be anything to it!

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!! THE BLUE SIGNS ARE COMING! THE BLUE SIGNS ARE COMING!

WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE! MY GOD, THE BLUE SIGNS ARE HERE!! THIS IS THE END OF EVERYTHING!! THE WORLD IS DOOMED!!!!! SAVE US FROM THE BLUE SIGNS!! (Are we really sure they aren't UN Blue signs put to guide the NWO troops when the assault from their hidden base underneath Mt Rushmore using their stocpiled "UN" vehicles hidden in TX, or is it NJ, no, make that NY. Or is it CO? I lose track of all the hidden, secret UN bases scattered all over America.

-- Tired (Rational@sanity.com), June 12, 1999.

In our area blue signs like that mark evacuation routes (hurricanes).

-- Taz (Tassie @aol.com), June 12, 1999.

A friend's cousin who works in the french fry industry relays that he overheard the signs are intended to be cooking instructions for the "soilent green" crackers that the government will be cooking after Y2K strikes. The 380 stands for the temperature and the 10 stands for minutes.

-- This is a joke (some here might take it seriously though) (do@not.believe), June 12, 1999.

Hey "Tired" you might want to check out Taz's post right below yours you MIGHT learn something, on second thought nada!!

Ray, Perhaps you have not seen these kind of signs because you are NOT FROM HERE. If you have such problems with this country, why don't you just go back to England where you came from? I for one, who has served this country (USA) in the military during time of war, am sick and tired of you, who moved here from the UK, constantly degrading this country and finding fault and conspiracies around every corner. If you don't like it here, leave. No one is MAKING you stay here. Those of us that are born here have a right to complain about our own country, but we frown on those who "choose" to move here and complain.

-- Cherri (sams@brigadoon.com), June 12, 1999.

Cherri, I think you've been sipping to much Sherry this afternoon. I'm NOT from England nor have I ever been there (not that I wouldn't like to go). I LOVE my country and served proudly in our military.

Now, let's get down to BRASS TACKS. Are you or are you not going to fulfill your commitment to Cory with regard to the essay you promised him?

Please answer before you imbibe in any more of that Sherry, Cherri.

Your Pal, Ray

-- Ray (ray@totacc.com), June 12, 1999.

Cherri, the silence is deafening. I can hear the sound of "one hand clapping".

Your Pal, Ray

-- Ray (ray@totacc.com), June 12, 1999.

Gee, Ray, I guess if Cherri doesn't produce that article soon, these blue signs must *really* be part of NWO secret plans. Or have you forgotten what we're talking about already?

Come on, Cherri, write *something* about IT so that Ray can relax and quit fantasizing about blue signs, OK?

-- Flint (flintc@mindspring.com), June 12, 1999.

Hic ... Hic ... Hic ... er OK Flint, whatever you thay. I can't find my pencil Flint, can you e-mail me one?

Your Pal, Sherrrrrrrry ........

-- Ray (ray@totacc.com), June 12, 1999.

Maybe we can distract Ray by reminding him that Sysman promised a paper of Brucey-beachy-bally boy; first said he was 3/4 done (in april) then 2/3.

If that doesn't work to shut Ray up, maybe we could try some bright, shiney objects?

why would anyone listen to Gary North in the first place?

-- Super Troll (Fu_Q_y2kfreaks@hotmail.com), June 12, 1999.

Sub Super Troll, sorry Ray has no intention of shutting up.

It appears that Cherri has though. Probably still waiting for Flint to e-mail her a pencil

Ray

Ray,

I will never post a reply to Cory's challenge until you give me some hot monkey lovin.

-- Cherri (sams@brigadoon.com), June 12, 1999.

Okay, I'll bite.

I read all the responses so far (12?) and not a one refers to the location other than Texas, maybe.

Here's how I'd handle it if I were posting a piece about UN troops and blue signs:

Today, while on Interstate 15, 12 miles south of Cashmere at exit 34, I saw a new type of sign that appears to possibly aimed at non- english speaking "visitors".

I contacted the state department of roads and trails and Bob Smith, the acting director, explained that the new signs were being placed for Serb refugies, who don't speak or read any english. He suggested that if I had any further questions I could contact my representatives office at 555-1111.

Look, the point is that sooo many posts are short on specifics and long on conjecture. Twelve responses to a GN eMail with no specifics. God God, there might not even be any signs.

Nothing convinces like FACTS. I am suspicious of posts that leave them out: "I work for a very large chip manufacturer and the bosses secretary says we're way behind on Y2K stuff." or "last week my phone went out and they denied that it had anything to do with Y2K testing, so I'm sure that all phone service will die a quick death on Jan 1st!"

Please, please, please include sources, names, locations and facts when telling tales.

Randers

-- Randers (coyotecanyon@hotmail.com), June 12, 1999.

Hmmmm. I noticed a few rummage sale signs nailed to a post while driving into town. Guess what?

They were cardboard signs!!!!! They are usually posted on plywood. Think this could be Y2K related?

-- GeeGee (GeeGee@madtown.com), June 12, 1999.

Good point coyote - but can I keep watching that pencil go through the phone line while I'm waiting for anyting on this thread to make sense?

-- Robert A. Cook, PE (Kennesaw, GA) (cook.r@csaatl.com), June 12, 1999.

Randers commented:

"Look, the point is that sooo many posts are short on specifics and long on conjecture. Twelve responses to a GN eMail with no specifics. God God, there might not even be any signs. "

Randers, the reason I posted this was to see if there was any confirmation. It does not appear so to date.

Ray, After one of many of your posts demanding to know why I have not answered cory's request, I told you to e-mail me and I would reply privately. Guess you were not interested. So here is the reason I have not completed my "committment" at this time. Right after I said I would write it, My mother discovered she had breast cancer. I care for my aging parents and am their transportation. After the biopsy and surgery to remove the cancerous lump, it was discovered that the cancer had metastisized in other areas of her body. I have been transporting her to and been at these appointments as well as being the emotional support for others in the family, as well as contacting extended family and friends to let them know that my Mother has less than 6 months to live. I have also spent a lot of personal time with her. I do post here, off and on, but it is something I do to "wind down" and get my mind off of my deep sadness. I do not know if I will even answer "cory's" request because it would probably be a fruitless endevor. So, when will I post it? Whenever the hell "I" feel like it, if "I" feel like it.

-- Cherri (sams@brigadoon.com), June 12, 1999.

Cherri, our condolences. It's hard work to care for a cancer patient. We're hospice caregivers, cancer specialists. eMail us if you'd like support.

-- Ashton & Leska in Cascadia (allaha@earthlink.net), June 12, 1999.

Ashton & Leska, Thank you for your concern. I will e-mail you because there are MANY questions I need to ask. :o) I appreciate your offer. I did not wish to post my private life, but after days of little sleep, taking care of my children and parents and other things I do off line, I was getting irritated over the "demands" from someone who seemed to have nothing better to do than constantly attempt to dregrade me for not doing what I had said I would do. The answer to "cory" does not seem all that important to me at this time. My priorities have changed, yet I am still trying to get some time to do it. It will just take longer now then it origionally would have.

-- Cherri (sams@brigadoon.com), June 13, 1999.

The family must be first, you apparently have little ones who depend on you for their attention. On the other hand, don't burn yourself out trying to do "everything" when stressed.

You, too, need relief.

-- Robert A. Cook, PE (Kennesaw, GA) (cook.r@csaatl.com), June 13, 1999.

Cherri -- Cory would be the first to say, "let go". I'm sure Ray will let go too, now that he knows the reason. While I have violently disagreed privately with some of your postings, we're all in the "human being" game together. I'm praying for you and your mother. Really.

-- BigDog (BigDog@duffer.com), June 13, 1999.

Cherri,

Hang in there :)

Kristi

-- Kristi (securx@succeed.net), June 13, 1999.

Cherri, I dont really understand why you are here. I feel for you, it sounds like you are having many people (whom you love) pull at you from all sides. Why would you sign on to the internet and willingly let total strangers pull at you too?

I say go to your family.... love them while you have time. If you need a mental and/or physical break, read a book...go for a walk....eat ice-cream....something that doesnt pull. I know I would.

-- bulldog (sniffin@around.com), June 13, 1999.

Cherri, why do you even bother trying to have an intelligent conservation with Ray. He has probably been up all night trying to think of insults that rhyme with sherry and pencil. My condolences to you.

-- dieter posts more meaningful messages than Ray (no@spamfrom.ray), June 13, 1999.

Cherri commented:

"Ray, After one of many of your posts demanding to know why I have not answered cory's request, I told you to e-mail me and I would reply privately. "

Cherri, to my knowledge you never made this request. Secondly, as you know I use a REAL e-mail address, it would have been simple enough to drop me a quick line which I NEVER received.

You have found time to attempt to malign me as you did earlier in this post and were corrected. If I were in your shoes I don't believe there would be time to participate in forum's like this, my full attention would be devoted to my family. The amount of time you have spent here and on other forums since you committed to write the essay would have allowed you to write many articles for Cory.

I will put this to bed so to speak, but wanted to set the record straight on a few points.

Life's path is not always an easy one, but it must be tread. Your strength will be derived from these daily walks.

Ray

-- Ray (ray@totacc.com), June 13, 1999.

Cherri,

My mother died of cancer and I was the caregiver for her. Believe me, you cannot do it alone. My mother's illness almost cost me my family, job and sanity. I felt so quilty not doing everything for her. I would never want my child to go through that. Never. Call hospice and use their resources and information. I have told my children that if I became terminal, they were under no circumstanaces to be my caregiver. No exceptions. That is how strongly I feel about it.

-- Carol (glear@usa.net), June 13, 1999.

But you find time to post on here? Cherri you carry about as much weight as I do. I could say next week I would be landing on the moon, does that make it true? NO. You say you are to busy, but behold you find enough time to turn on your computer and make plenty of post on this forum. Why dont you just fess up and admit that you were not going to do it from the get go.

-- al-d. (catt@zianet.com), June 13, 1999.

My prayers go out to you & yours Cherri.

Ray, that you did not post an apology to Cherri speaks volumes about you. Compassion CAN be cultivated. Grab a hoe & get busy. IMO, you've a lot of work to do.

Best Wishes,

-- Bingo1 (howe9@pop.shentel.net), June 13, 1999.

Bingo1, in the simplest terms possible for you to understand Cherri LIED about requesting that I e-mail her. I use a REAL e-mail address and she could have easily dropped me a line explaining her situation. I'll bet she will be hanging around as usual parsing out her standard BS.

If you want to spread compassion be my guest and get your own hoe, do it for the CHILDREN! Cherri also spewed out a big LIE about me being born in another country earlier in this thread. Get a life Bongo1, I have as much or more compassion as anyone.

Ray

-- Ray (ray@totacc.com), June 13, 1999.

Bingo,

Before you start throwing your judgemental way around what don't you get the facts straight first. She did lie to Ray and no one seems to be gettin on her case at all. For once I agree with Al-d, she probably thought everyone would forget about her "Bold" statement about Cory's challenge. So before you get on Ray's case, get it straight.

-- Right on Ray (Right@on.ray), June 13, 1999.

IMO the details about lies & truths are immaterial when someone reveals they have a family member with cancer. I thought perhaps you could have halted the fued for just a little while.

But no. Being "right" is apparently more important than being respectful of another's personal pain. So be it.

Best Wishes,

Am I the only one here that is brave enough to state that maybe she is lying. She lied about her reply. It is an easy out for her. Everyone will feel sorry for her and forget about the lies she has stated. Some folks are so naive.
