Can anyone tell me what is meant by Going Infomagic

Sorry to be asking what must seem like a dumb question to many, but what is meant by "going Infomagic"? Any web site references? Thanks for any help.

Infomagic is a fellow who writes senarios regarding y2k. His are sooo scary. After you read them, you look at the people moving around you and have this surreal feeling that they are all ghosts. Everyone is going to die because of y2k complications. Most likely even you. That's what going Infomagic sort of means.

More accurately, a return to Society circa about the 1300's or earlier.

Infomagic is like Cory on steroids. Both work in IT, and both are IT bigots. Cory thinks IT does the world's work, and parts of it will fail. Infomagic thinks IT does *God's* work and ALL of it will fail.

Thank you for the helpful replies. Actually, I'm not really a newbie, I first heard about the Y2K problem a little over a year ago. With a little reading on the issue, I quickly "got it". I just didn't know what the reference to Infomagic was about. Again, thank you and best wishes to all those who post really helpful information on this forum.
