While I don't expect Y2K to bring about the demise of anything, I sure wish something would do in Mrs. Grundy and her snoopy kin.

I stopped wearing pantyhose fifteen years ago, but let's not be too quick to get rid of it entirely. Somewhere recently, I read where they're a wonder material because they can double as fish net, spare fan belt, coffee/tea filter, storage bag for vegetables and fruit, screen door and window repair material

The disconnect between the general public and the ag and resource industry.

In my experience, those who make their living off the land are largely tired of being painted as "rapers and pillagers" of the earth when they support the remaining 95% of the population's economy. Rural folk here are alienated and disgusted. Their land and control over their private property is being taken from them and they are being plunged into poverty. (I bet that same 95% of the population expects them to come to their rescue in 2000...We may have to rethink that.)

I would like to see those who haven't a clue where raw materials come from or what it takes to develop them stop telling those who do know just "how it should be done." I would like to see urban and suburban people welcome the cougar, wolf and grizzly into their backyards and playgrounds instead of ours.

Maybe after some of those CEOs "bug out" and have to get their fingernails dirty feeding their families and living under some of the stupid laws they helped to pass, they will be a bit more sensitive to life on the farm.
