Virgin River, Zion N.P. From some of the post cards I've seen, this place is spectacular in the fall. But the spring greens are wonderful too! Taken with a nikon N70, 24-120 @24, Sensia 100

I think the composition is good and the subject is spectacular, but the hot spot in the middle of the photo really bothers me. Your water looks excellent. The speed was right on. Maybe a different part of the day would have cured the hot spot problem. A slit ND filter may have solved the problem if the sun was a little higher. I'd like to see more from this trip.

Larry: You really shouldn't post shots like this and your recent Thor's Hammer shot. I'm leaving on Friday for Bryce & Zion and I'm already way too excited.

Good composition. Tasteful signature. I wonder what this would look like if you used Velvia after the sun wasn't making the hot spot. I'm usually not a Disneychrome (aka Velvia) fan, but in this case it might be useful.

Outstanding! Great composition and range of tones.

You need to think twice before telling people where photos like this were taken though. In the NW if you publish something like this, the place gets trashed almost immediately.

Best, Keith
