Though prior art does not determine all future outcomes, beware of people who can "talk the language" that you like to hear. At this link, Sokal, you'll find the text of an article by a 'hard' scientist, purporting to show that science is an irrational "narrative" that is no more nor less true than the any post-modern poem. It was accepted by a serious and prestigious social/critical studies journal because it rang their bells. Later shown to be completely bogus. Read it and laugh.

I guess the lesson I learned from c4i is not to believe nor discount anything I hear. Just store it all away for further evalutaion to it's accuracy post y2k. If people like Poole, Y2KPro, etc. could think this way then there would be a lot less bickering. I might also add that if Paul Milne, Gary North etc. could think this way there would be a lot less bickering.
