Error message 10005

I am trying to restore my database from a tape backup but I keep receivng this error message (10005). I would really appreciate any help you could provide. Thanks in advance.

First check the errorlog for errors that may provide more clues. Then verify that the number and size of the devices/segments has not changed since backing up.

If you still have problems, you may want to try to update your SQL Server to at least SQL 6.5 SP4. Also, some 10005 problems have been reported with databases containing text or images.

If restoring this database is urgent, I recommend calling for Microsoft Priority Service Support. It will cost you about $200, but it seems that this is a solvable problem.
