this seems like a bit of a flip-flop,unless the wall-street higher ups know more than thet're saying(cue the ominous,paranoid music)they've been spouting off how y2k is such a non-event,and how they need to go to an extended workday.now they're going to wait...because of y2k!what gives,chicken little? Answers

Y2K is cited as one reason. Decimilization is cited as another. Seems like the NASDAQ is going to extend its hours this September though. Perhaps the NYSE is going to watch and learn from the NASDAQ.
