I agree with the comment on the square crop.

Otherwise, an asymetrical crop would seem more effective. But, since this appears to be a full frame shot, you can crop it later.

I agree with the square crop, but you need the flower offset. That way the needles will form nice lines leading the eye back to the subject. This is a composition issue at shutter time and I would have offset it then and it would have came out quite nice in the rectangular format. Is it possible with you camera to get more, just a tad, of background blur. That way the needles would be isolated from the flower and still give a nice line to the flower. Of course, you probably can't go back and get the same flower again...

Thank you all for your input. Although I don't have a large file posted, I do have this and four additional shots of these flowers, including both female and male parts, up on my web site.
