Why is Art Deco a style and not a movement?

Art Deco is a style because it is part of the Modernist Movement. It is a style just like Cubism, or German Expressionism are styles. Art Deco also carries over into the Post-Modernist Movement. Think of it like a family tree, art is on top, with the different movements next, and then the styles. Don't forget that each style also has many different subsets.
