CSX Merger Roster

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ACL and SAL Railroads Historical Society : One Thread

Do you have, or can you tell me where I can find a roster that shows how Seaboard and Chessie System engines were renumbered into CSX?

I would like to get a copy of the Excel spreadsheet with an eye toward publishing it on the Society's Web site for input from other members.

Our Q&A Forum is one of the most popular destinations at the Web site. The Society has been working on some new collaborative services for the Web site and we expect to roll the first ones out soon. They will be similar to the current Q&A Forum, but tailored to specific areas of interest.

A roster of the type you have would be an excellent addition to the new collaborative services we have planned. Please send me an E-mail message with the spreadsheet attached. Be sure and send it directly to me, as I think a large file will clobber the Q&A Forum.

I asked myself that same question Jimmy back in September of last year. Using a variety of sources I have compiled a HUGE Excel document that rosters all Seaboard System members and predecessors ( ACL, SAL, C&WC, NC&Sl, RF&P, etc)) as well as Chessie System roads up into the CSXT era. There are some holes in my information (slugs and Geep 40s mostly) and some problems.

I am new on the Web and do not know how to make this information available to you. Any help?

Perhaps the Historical Society would be interested in making this a page we can all access, improve, correct, and update?
