What an interesting night I had at Grand Prix with my Galaga game. I'll start by saying, it was a great idea, but because it was a spur of the moment kinda thing, and I was really anxious to play a long game on this particular cabinet the Galaga was in (large cabinet that is very easy for spectators to see me clearly in action!) I didn't allow myself or Grand Prix to plan it out right. The announcement never happened about me there playing, allthough I did prop a few books up on the top of the game for spectators to see, but because they were so high, they didn't bother asking to look at them to maybe buy, and figured they were just for show, so I wasn't able to sell any of them, but that's alright, because I convinced the location to move the books out in the open for people to see where as before they were hidden.

Now, the complete low down of my game.

Objective was to play from 7pm till midnight and score 10M pts (30 min a million). Here's what happened...

1st man --- 3,400,000+ pts!!!!!!! Stage 230!!! 2nd man --- 4,400,000+ pts, (interupted by management wanting to gossip with me). 3rd man --- 7,900,000+ pts!!!!!! What a run, again!!! 4th man --- 10,080,000+ pts!!!!!!!!!! Stage 647!!! Shots fired = 57,000+ giving me 73.5% hit miss ratio!!

I ended here because the game began to freak out, and for some reason, just ended my game and went to player 1 game. When I killed off the 2 men remaining on the plyr 1 side, it was over. I also had Walter Day on the phone from 9,900,000+ pts till the end!!! So he heard everything that went on as if he was there!! The settings on this game were much harder then TG settings, even know it was on the turbo ver. (which I believe will be in it's own new catagory) I started with 5 men, and was awarded a free man at 30K and every 100K there after (instead of 70k) therefore, I had a total number of 15 men instead of 18 and had 11 men left over!!!! My average from the 4 men I played was 2.5M a man! multiply that by the remaining men I had left over, and it would of given me a score of 35M and what ever else I would of gotten on my last single man (most likely at least 1 more mill.) So a total of 36M+ score! Of course this would of had to be consistant throughout the game, but it gives me ideas to how high of a score can be achieved on this game. Now, this is on the turbo ver. and also was on a harder setting. Therfore, 42.5M may be possible with TG settings for extra men. Now everyone can see that a "50M" game doesn't look like it's going to happen at all. A 42.5M game would take about 20 hours to do. I actually was averaging 25 minutes a game instead of 30, and out of the 3 times I died before taking the 4th man to 10M, I could of prevented 1 death for sure. The other 2 I just couldn't avoid. Now, I'm wondering if I should go for a new world record on the turbo ver. beating out my current 20.5M on mame by next years NH tourney. Providing Gary can get 1 more Galaga, or upgrade one of them with the turbo chip.
