Nostradamus Y2K Prophecy?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

From the June 1999 issue of FATE Magazine, pg. 12:

Parapsychologist Loyd Auerbach held a Psychic Frontiers Nostradamus Y2K contest. The winner, Mrs. Aaron A. Rock, Sr., from Braxton, Mississippi submitted her winning entry.

She cited Century 1, quatrain 22:

"A thing that exists without any original senses will cause its own end to happen through artifice. At Autun, Chalan, Langres, and the two Sens [the towns of Sens and Sens-de-Bretagne], there will be great damage from hail and ice."

Mrs. Rock interpreted as follows:

"I believe this quatrain is about Y2K because a computer has no original senses, it has only what man puts into it . . . Artifice means operation, and the computer in the year 2000 will cause its own problem because of the way it operates and [will] therefore [be] the end, at least of all outdated computers."

"She goes on to say that the five cities in France could be where some of the worst problems are going to be, or could be 'code words for other clues.'"

A number of other entries were made in this contest, all suggesting other quatrains as relating to Y2K.

Your guess is as good as mine!

A parapsychologist is about as usefull as a para brain surgeon.

Am sure Mrs. Rock is a very nice lady.

Thank you kahuna,

I posted a few Nostradamus threads - in the archives, Mother Shipton etc.

kahuna,

Parapsychologist = sorta Psychologist = not a Psychologist.

Lets get back to the *real* issues: preparing for disruptions from Y2K.

A *REAL* Psychlolgist,

Sorry guys, it's been a long day...

PSYCHOLGIST...er, PSYHOLOIST... shoot!, ok, PSYCHOLOGIST.

(I really am one, even if I can't spell worth a dang...)

HI spindoc,

I've been winding up cpr over on the de bunker site ( ok, I'm not proud of it, but it is fun ) and I think the guy is bonkers ( tech term there : ) would you give him a look and tell me if he really is nuts, or just different.

CT,

For some reason CEEPER's backed himself into a corner that precludes new info. Credentials aplenty but no flex. Definately need a Spindoc for this one.

My guess: He's the ultimate troll with a bunker full of food and just having a cryptorchid's fun 'ol time.

Just took a look at CPR - the blokes a raving lunatic - seems to initiate posts and then proceeds to answer himself several times in succession -

most peculiar, I imagine a little spittle in the corners of his mouth as he types...

Andy,

I'm looking for those Nostradamus threads. Can anyone provide a link?

Thanks in advance.
