More than _1,100+ (SRO!)_ attended the Metro-Detroit Chapter of The Joseph Project 2000 meeting last night at the Northfield Hilton in Troy, Michigan. ( See Jeff Roberts' < Jefferson.G.Roberts@jci.com > personal account below. )

Franklin Frith and David Bresnahan ( WorldNetDaily ) made a Y2K "radio talk show"-style presentation to the eager-to-learn audience.

The presence and coverage of Fox 2-TV, Detroit, is the first time (I think) that a major media outlet in this region has assigned anyone ( albeit was an intern ) to a Y2K-related public education presentation. ( It's about time! ) Fox 2-TV gave it a ( rather "mocking" ) 1 minute of air time, including a 20-second snippet of video with Jeff Roberts, the organizer.

The Y2K "knee-knocking" of politicians was deafening.

With the airing of, and precipitating interest in, the "Back to Back" ( WTVS-PBS Detroit ) Y2K show this Tuesday ( Re-airs Sunday, May 30, 1999 11:30am-12:00pm ), I may breathe life back into "Year 2000 Citizen Action Group" ( Oakland County, Michigan < y2kcag@hotmail.com > ) for organizing local citizens. This event was encouraging!

May 28, 1999Overwhelming Interest Forces Many to be Turned Away from Y2K Conference

Eleven hundred people showed up last night for a meeting titled, " Preparing for the New Millennium" but due to a lack of space, 400 had to be turned away. The Metro Detroit Chapter of the Joseph Project hosted a "One-on-One Investigative Interview" of Franklin Frith by David Bresnahan, contributing editor for "WorldNetDaily.Com". The presentation presented many of the government reports and documents that relate to Y2K that Franklin and David have found through independent research. All of those documents can be found at "www.y2kcoming.com". Every effort was made NOT to give any opinions or commentaries. Only the Lord can judge motives and our opinions are only one of millions of opinions on Y2K.My God is an awesome God!!!!

I attended as a volunteer for this event.

Based on the apparent rise in awareness, I am contemplating reviving the Year 2000 Citizen Action Group < Y2KCAG@hotmail.com > for further citizen-based activities.

The more citizens are informed about Year 2000 infrastructure ramifications and pending collateral cultural upheavals, the better prepared they will be to mitigate the profound social consequences.
