Business Continuity Planning & Emergency Preparedness Conference Online Held on March 16, 1999 at California State University Sacramento Rich Gleason, Information Systems Division, GTE Government Systems Corporation Speaker Now the -- the prognosticators are all over the map on Y2K. Some are getting dire warnings of doom9s day and others are saying there9s gonna be no problem. I think it9s gonna be somewhere in between. I was at a breakfast meeting three weeks ago where John Koskinen -- uh -- addressed a bunch of people from industry and some government people as well. He said that the risk from adverse public reaction was quickly eclipsing the technical risk and that public policy is being steered to mitigate this so they9re telling a lot of positive stories, but there is still a lot to worry about.
