Portable nle G3 powerbook

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Editing DV Films : One Thread

Hi, I am a filmmaker and video living in Brazil. I often shoot and produce videos in remote area of this country. I was thinking to buy a portable nle system based on powerbook g3 400 and add the newtech firewire 2 go plus vst dvharddrive 22 or 36 gb. Any suggestion on a stable portable system? Thanks,

Tony

Media 100 makes a totally portable editing system for the g3. very very stable and better looking than avid video! w/ 36gigs of hard disk. It's not cheap but it's portable, stable and professional to the max

I'd say go for the 400 G3, newertech or ratoc firewire card, and the vst drive. That's what I'm doing and it seems like a great solution. I'll let you know how it works out. I'll have it next week.
