Chris, I like this photo. Your wide depth of field has paid off with flowers that seem to "pop out" of the photo. Simultaneously, you managed to tame the background and isolate your subject.

Before anyone criticizes the fact that you clipped the top petal, let me say that I LIKE the fact that you clipped that petal. Nature shots sometimes look contrived and unnatural. The back flower is out of focus enough to act as background. The fact that it is clipped only gives the photo some spontaneity.

The background is very fitting and the flowers do pop out but I think that had the front two flowers be more isolated from the others the image would be stronger. Though still a very nice effect with these flowers.

Chris, clusters of flower heads are not often easy to capture with good depth of field and a clean background, with all other factors being ideal, a slight breeze and subject movement will make it difficult. You've done a great job with these flowers! Donna
