I just cracked up while watching CBS....

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

About 10:45 EST time. First, I see the Y2k KIA ad where they're standing outside the bank in the rain.

The KIA dude sez, "Hey, there's nothing to worry about"...then, about two minutes later, an ad for 60 Minutes appears: "Washington is having problems...and it's Y2k...tune in, blah blah blah, tick, tick tick..."

Talking about a conflicting viewpoints, LOL. Maybe I'm reading too much into this...comments welcome.

Darn. Ya beat me to it. I barely post, and thought this would be my chance to start a thread, ya bozo ;-) The 60 minutes ad showed Capitol Hill with the voiceover. Was very brief.

Just went to the CBS site to see if they had any "previews" -- just a snippet announcing the topic for May 23:

Y2K
Despite the billions being spent to deal with the Y2K computer bug, many municipalities can't guarantee their citizens basic services like water and electricity on January 1, 2000. Steve Kroft reports. Frank Devine is the producer.

I do hope that Kia buys ad time during the 60 Minutes report. That would be beautiful...

On Friday the Drudge Report reported about the upcoming CBS "controversial" Y2k report included on it's website. I think it is still there for an interesting perspective. We're having nerve gas drills in the Twin Cities (MN) area this weekend. I think they are testing the ability of Twin Cities' residents to withstand the effects of their Governor! See ya!

Diane,

ROTFLMAO. The voters really made a point by electing "The Body." I guess in this case the point isn't very clear.

Your neighbor in WI

Howdy neighbor! Hey, don't get me wrong.. we LOVE our Jessie "The Body" Jessie "The Mind" Jessie "The Gov", except since his book came out, some of the local Minnesotans are having trouble reconciling his getting high and buying prostitutes with his governing the state. We'll make it though. Almost CBS Y2K time!! See ya!
