Taken in October, 1998 about an hour before sunset. This park is located just a few miles North of the Speedway, on the West side of Indianapolis. Canon Elan IIe, 20/2.8, and Bogen 3021 tripod @ f/11. Velvia.

I like the image and the composition, but the scan seems a little too contrasty and unsharp. was the scan froma a print?

Yes, this scan is from a 5x7 Ilfachrome: the slide itself is sharper, has a little less contrast (and is actually a little more saturated). Nonethess, I'm no photoshop expert and don't possess a sclide scanner (yet).

This is a pretty nice shot. The scan does look somewhat soft though. I think you are better off scanning the slide directly. Did you use a polarizer? If not, a polarizer may enhance the cloud a bit. You also may get warmer colors in the clouds if you shoot closer to sunset.
