Well, I like the idea and it's a great subject. It's amazing how nature can adapt. . .

Here the exposure seems very flat: not enough punch. What film were you using? Some specs would help trouble shoot this.

Could you move in closer and fill the frame with a close up that includes only the seam or fusion point of the tree and stone. I guess the effect is not quite disconcerting enough. Maybe pull in and play up the texture difference bewteen the two with afternoon or morning light.

Marek, so many times I see images in nature such as these and photographed only to get my pictures back to find I have not captured the essense of what I saw. Perhaps moving in closer as suggested, or move out to get a larger perspective. A wide angle lens might have added interest. Shoot from different angles. Even more importantly, check your exposure, this appears lack details in both the shadow and the highlight. Perhaps shooting in a different light would help. Very good choice of subject and worthwhile to go back and shoot again if possible. Donna
