Well if don't already know, Sac state and McClatchy both have special passes which provide discount bus transportation for their students. However, Sac city, as far as I know, doesn't have a program for bus transportation. So my question is this: How can Sac city students get a fair deal when riding the bus?

Well Morgan, it is pretty apparent to me that the administration at Sac City is not the least bit interested in doing anything about this. They are obsessed with finding more ways to make money off of parking fees. First they rented some empty lots and started a shuttlebus service to them, and then they tore down the cold storage to add more spaces to the original lot. Three or four years from now, when the planned light rail extension makes it to City, the only way to park in the lot will be by buying a semester pass; there will be no daily permits anymore. I know I have not answered your question, but this was the best I could do. So I will leave you with the immortal words of Bob Harris, Sac City President, "I don't need any of your smart ass questions".

The bastards are doing it all wrong man. if parking is such a pain in the arss, a parking garage should be built. it is better to go up in a situation like this. And on the subject of the light rail if it comes to Sac city, i hope the students get a deal on a student pass, unlike the bus system.

That's swell and all about finding more parking, but come on! Not all of us have cars, so new parking spaces are not a concern. i'm talking about discounts on the metro. who can i complain too about this problem?

Well Morgan, I can understand your sentiments. It would be great if we students had that option of discounted RT travel. I would suggest that your bring this matter to the attention of Robert Harris, our illustrious president. But I fear you would be turned away before you even made it into his office. Frankly, I doubt anyone from the administration gives a damn about this problem, and if they do, I wish they would prove me wrong.

Just a thought...but if your school isn't trying to help out the students in this matter, why not appeal to the city or whomever controls the transportation you are speaking off. It could be possible that, even though the other schools do have discounts, the morons are completely oblivious to the needs of Sac City students such at yourself. This may take a good deal of work or it might just take a few letters to bring it to the attention to the right people. As far as parking goes, even if a parking garage is built, the problem will never be solved because of the ever-growing student and city populations. I'm not saying that nothing should be done, I am simply saying that it is a situation with no solutions...only small improvments.
