Anyone watch ER tonight...Y2k mentioned

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

On the segment of Er tonight, Y2k was mentioned. Did anyone catch it? In the emergency operating room, during the blackout and while doing a surgery, one doctor said something like "pre empt to Y2k" It was quick and nothing else said.

We will be seeing more like this in the coming months, I think.

Yes, I saw it. My wife and I both looked at each other and nodded. Powerful show, and possibly prescient as well.

Saw it too. Heard the quick Y2K comment.

Thought it might touch on it with a title like "Power" and pre-billing as "Blackout."

Does this mean we need to watch 'The Soaps" for Y2K info? Judging by American standards, it's as good a place to watch as anywhere, I guess. igw@one.net.au

Speaking of soaps, my grandmother is a dedicated watcher of "Young & The Restless".

One of the characters, Victor Newman, crash landed in the desert and was rescued by some hermit. Apparently, the hermit is keeping him on his compound against his will. Victor, trying to escape, breaks into the hermit's office, and sees articles all over his office with Y2k headlines such as "Y2k Not A Mirage" before trying to send an email for help to his son. Apparently, the part about seeing the articles happened today...Grandma rushed in and told me soon as I got home :-)

I wonder how many people watch this soap?
