Apart from what you read in the traditional media and see for yourselves, who, where, what influences your thinking, your optimism, pessimism, preparation on Y2k? These are the people and places that I tap into, that got me to take the issue seriously, that gave me sleepless nights and occasional respite, that spur me into action, that give me confidence or catalyse/contribute to the threads that get me thinking. Love 'em or hate 'em, but I can't quite deny them, either way.

Your list pretty much covered those who initially influenced my thinking. Countryside Magazine convinced my folks to GI. Now that I've made the decision to prepare I'm not looking to be influenced anymore from any source, though I enjoy reading news on the positive side.

This forum helps me get new angles on preparation. Plenty of things I'd have overlooked otherwise. Just moving back to the farm from overseas put me in good standing for anything up to a 7. Since I'm here anyway I'm getting ready for up to a 9 just in case, but mostly to relieve my own anxieties. I'm comfortable with the level of time and effort these preps are costing me, as well as the money. Nothing I read at this late date is likely to relax my efforts or get me to buck up for a 10.
