I suspect the Petromax uses a higher pressure than the Coleman lanterns (this is based on pressure needed to pump each beastie).

If the CO2 cartridge adapter will fit a standard bicycle tire valve, then it should work with Diana's pump adapter.

Hi!!

Hope everyone's day is a good one!!

BriteLyt has not yet tested the CO2 device, as advertised for the Coleman lanterns;however, we will be testing that device. We do not recommend usage of this device;however, on our lanterns and stoves, until that testing has been completed. Safety is our main concern, and we will not endorse any item/product, until it has met our standards of quality and safety.

We have, however, used the "Zefal Air CO2" cartridges on our lanterns, with the BriteLyt Easy-Pump-Up Valve (Part #1010), and they worked just fine. You will need to purchase their little adapter, which is not an expensive item, to attach to the #1010. These cartridges cost approximately $4.00 and up.

I will be posting info, concerning the advertised product, as soon as it has arrived to our facility and testing has been completed.

Ed.....If you need assistance, call us, and we'll do everything we can to help you out with your problems. We don't care where anyone bought their Petromax products, my chief technician will be happy to help. I think the #1010 will probably help your pump-up problem, and, since you don't have to hold the lantern in place, during the pump-up process, it aleviates the danger of breaking mantles, as well as working up a sweat. These lanterns are a great piece of machinery, and built to last through the generations, so the pumping process can be a little bit of a pain. Took me a little bit to figure out that there's a trick to it........use short pumping strokes. Heck....the first time I used one, you'd have thought I was pumping up a tire. Thought I'd never get that thing going. (Smiling) You'll get used to it, and once done.....it's a piece of cake. I really appreciate your input, though....helps keep us on our toes.
