Great symmetry! I almost missed the turtles at first...had to look a few times to see the turtles. It seems very dark and contrasty though. When I lived in Maryland, I used to see lots of scenes like that along the C&O Canal Towpath (the stretch between Frederick MD and Harpers Ferry W.VA.). I never could get a decent shot of them though because the ones in Maryland would all jump into the water at the slightest crunch of a twig.
Nice job.

A very nice composition. The action seems to be taking place in a natural spotlight, with light falling away at the corners in a pleasing way. It's hard to get good basking turtle shots because they usually bask in the hard, hot sun.
