Y2K Small Issue - What is the real problem?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Has anyone thought that the Y2K may only be a small issue, an issue that the governments want everyone to think is big but the bigger issue is the governments wanting to reduce populations i.e. the culling of world numbers. Think about it. While everyone is predicting failures for year 2000, not saying it will not happen - but everyone will be so busy that this is the perfect time for germ warfare between governments and the people. Keep the massess busy and the governments have a field day. What better way to introduce the "New World Order". Everyone going crazy, getting sick, dying from whatever, mass hysteria and low and behold a government or a collection of powerful people who have been planning this for a long long time. Seems pretty straight forward to me. Any comments

Pamela,

I don't get the impression that governments want everyone to think Y2K is a big issue. If, as you suggest, germ warfare is a possibility, then I'd think you'd want a bug-out bag and some extra supplies so you could leave your city quickly if you needed to.

Be prepared for sudden changes. My parents lost electricity for a week in 1974 because of a tornado. Some people in Canada in 1998 lost electricity for as long as five weeks due to an ice storm.

Be prepared.

I guess that Nukes and the Star Wars program didn't freak people out so they figured on a computer bug? hhhhmmmmm I think that people just have a problem with time.

Although this started with a defence contract in the 60s didn't it. OOOOhhhhhh I am starting to wonder.

No. I don't think that people's minds can anticapate a problem such as this 30 - 40 years ago. If there is one thing that I have seen with this problem is the breadth of folks thought dealing with any kind of timescape. This is just a human error, and God, the countries and those that manage them are not so manipulative as to conceive of such an event. The design of the systems that have been created are bootstraping us ahead of ourselves whether we like it or not. We have complex systems in a chaotic world and they may break down. Big deal. Just know what it takes to have a life and live it. You will find it is not Y2K that is a problem but maybe your way of looking at life. The pollys and the doomers are all alike. They just don't consider that we are a natural species and need only so much to live. The rest is gravy. So there might be a little less gravy.

When this problem developed Bill Gates was just a child. Now he bought an island in the Pacific. Of course Antartica may break up and he has no island. Is that the sign of a guy that is thinking ahead. It makes me wonder if the 40 million dollar house he just built is compliant. I know his business is not.

One thing that just occured to me is the fact that christ is the originator of the date (I know that pope greg was) and that this could be the "coming of christ" in some manner of speaking. When dealing with ancient scriptures one has to see the imagery behind the message. I see an irony here that Y2K is inadvertantly started by some guy that tried to get some humanity into people. 2000 years later.......... (and I know that the birth and the date are 4 years apart.....) we worry about his birthday that is on the wrong day-month-year. Maybe it is just time to start a new time scale. Maybe Japan has the right idea.

Well there are some thoughts :o)

Which governments, Pamela? 19 governments cannot bring a country with the population and size of just one of our states, under control with a month of intense bombing.

As many have said before me, Never ascribe to conspiracy what can be explained as mere stupidity, (or something like that).

Pamela:

The code is broken - it won't work

listen to the programmers, not government people and CEO's Most don't have a clue as to programming techniques, layer information, interconnectivity, and fragility of large and complex systems.

And companys don't spend hundreds of millions on scams, hypes, and pretense.

suggest researching Dr. Paula Gordon PHd

best to you,

Bob

if there is a conspiracy,it seems to be an overwhelming whitewash of "NO BIG DEAL,BUMP IN THE ROAD" to keep the corporate-banking system going and profiting until the last possible....

If you want your panties in a real gather, do a Deja News search on csy2k using Neutron Bomb from about a year and a half ago. An "Army" poster outlined the military's plan to neutralize cities having intense civil disorder using neutron bombs. The thread generated a fair amount of heat so it should be easy to find.

Similar thoughts have crossed my mind, but not exactly New World Order. If many folks die as a result of Y2K, including many elderly, it sure would be a way to "save" the Social Security System!
