I have recently become very interested in the study of transpersonal psychology. I would like to study it at a university and use the TP route to become a counselor and or psychologist. I don't know where to study it at and the only university I have herad of so far is the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. I fanyone could offer any information on how to further my knowledge on the subject and how to become licensed in it I would really appreciate it. Also, if you could offer some information on what career paths it can take on.. thank you Gina M Tripi

Hello Gina Marie. I am currently a student at the Naropa Institue in Boulder, CO. Naropa offers a masters program in transpersonal psychology. I am entering my second year of this program and it has been intense, exciting and challenging. I don't think there's another place like it. The web site is http://ww.naropa.edu. The phone number is 303-444-0202. The address is 2130 Arapahoe Ave. Boulder, CO 80302. Please forward me any info you receive about PHD programs in TP. Thanks. Good Luck! Rebecca

gina, there is a book you can order from the APA. It costs $6. Go to the APA's home page, and look under their humanistic section. All the info you need should be there. I am also looking for a grad program in TP, and want to eventually open a private practice. If you come across any new info, or any info involving career possibilities, would you please let me know? Thanks, Wendy.

I am a student at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology graduating this June. It is an amazing program that has transformed my inner and outer life. As I face the world after graduation I am finding A LOT of opportunities. I am running groups for adolescents focusing on conflict resolution, relationship skills, body image and self-esteem. I use psychodrama, psychosynthesis and movement as learning modalities. I am also starting a women's group using movement and a relationship with nature to heal body image/eating disorder issues. My experience with ITP has contributed to my own growth so that I feel humble and confident in facilitating change and awareness in others. My classmates are going into diverse career areas: holistic health, business consulting, private clinical practice, teaching, research, writing and workshops. Great to see so many people interested in bringing the transpersonal into the world! Blessings!

I received my BA from Burlington College in Burlington, Vermont. They offer a BA program, including a low residency option (which I did not do, since I live right near the school), in Transpersonal Psychology. I am currently working towards my master's degree in TP at Vermont College at Norwich University. This is a low residency program. Both schools have web pages if you want to write them for more info.
