What with Y2K hysteria and a bit of millennium madness now seeping into the collective consciousness, even the most level-headed folks may be thinking about stocking up on foodjust in case. Companies dealing in survival food are reporting that business is booming. Many people are apparently buying huge quantities of all sorts of Space Age foods. However, good cooks from every millennium have always known that a well-stocked pantry provides the security of knowing you will be prepared for anything. Here are a few Web sites to check out: for a list of basic stables, see: http://www.ivillage.com/content/1,1625,378,00.html for more upscale items, see: http://www.reluctantgourmet.com/pantry.htm to stock a low-fat pantry, see: http://www.womenswire.com/livinglarge/grub/pantry.html

Very interesting Col. Klink. Seems I was a trend setter when I ordered my Freeze Dried and dehydrated food from Nitro_Pak last June! I guess we will see much more of this kind of re-porting. I think we are creeping from 5% AWARE to 100% AWARE. Question: who will actually heed the warnings?? Semper Fidelis,R
