Aw, come on, FM--if the boys can Be Prepared, so can the girls! Seriously, this IS good news. I wonder how many women on this forum were in the Girl Scouts (or Girl Guides elsewhere)? I still remember some of the knots. . .!

You know the people on this forum are so immersed in Y2K we forget that the Y2K spectrum is not seperated (using vastly overly simplified catagories) into the doomers and the pollies.

It is seperated into the doomers, the pollies, and the "huh?". I have no figures on this, but IF I were a gambler, I'ld bet that there are more "huh?"s than doomers and pollies combined.

If a large number of people would move from "huh?" to speed-bumpers, it would be a great improvement, sad to say.

"Be Prepared" is an early instilled motto, I still live by.

I--along with what I expect would be the majority of emergency managers in the U.S.--agree that we should "be prepared" for emergencies at ANY time. Are we? Nope. ('Cause it always seems to happen to the other guy!) I too wish there were more "speed bumpers" out there than "huhs?" I expect there will be. . .come December.

The upside of Y2K? Well . . .I've certainly learned a lot about self-sufficiency, and I imagine others have as well. 'Don't think I'm ready for a "Little House on the Prairie" yet, but learning about these things has been valuable.
